June 4th-8th at the Spiritual Life Center
June 4, 2012
It’s hard to believe that this is the last week of classes for Spring term! I’m thinking about and holding in the Light (as we Quakers say) all of you who are working on projects, giving presentations and studying for finals!
This is the last week of our programming for spring term. Rev. Dennis and I will be around next week during finals week, but with the exception of Quaker Meeting for worship, we will be holding our last programs this week. We will both be off for the summer, and the Spiritual Life Center will be closed beginning June 14 until Fall term.
We hope you can come by during this last week of program!
This week at the Spiritual Life Center
Tuesday
1pm Bible Study
Wednesday
8:30am Centering Prayer, followed by breakfast at a nearby café
12-12:30pm Quaker Meeting for Worship (This program will be the only program held next week, June 13—during finals for the last time before resuming in the fall.)
4pm The Art and Practice of Meditation
This week we’ll be celebrating all that we’ve learned over the term! Bring a dish to share, and enjoy the chance to share appreciation for the journey we’ve been on together this Spring!
Thursday
12:05-12:55 Faculty and Staff–Beginning Yoga
5pm Eucharist/Communion followed by
5:30pm Free meal and discussion–Beloved Community, Building an Interfaith Community of Compassion. We’ve had a wonderful time reading Karen’s Book, Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life this term. Although we haven’t quite finished it, we’ll tie it up this week, and take the opportunity to celebrate the Beloved Community we have built together over the term. Come and enjoy some good food, celebration and time to share our affirmations with one another.
We would love you to join us for any of these gatherings. You are always welcome to just stop by for a cup of tea.
